With the discontinuance of active farming on the ODWC holdings west of the hidden beanfield several of us (lease hunters) have begun a plan to intensively manage the bottomland tract for deer/turkey, etc. with emphasis upon establishing food plots designed to provide forage all through the fall plus into late winter/early spring.

It is hoped that in addition to enticing the deer & turkey to hang around more closely and throughout the year the hunting prospects will be greatly enhanced.

The basis for this plan of action is we did precisely that ~6 seasons ago and the game increased both in frequency as well as abundance.

The BF activity also increased markedly during that time, so that may prove to be a beneficial ancillary component to boot!  Smiley

I was just going to add the samething that you said #59, and that is, (the bigfoot activity increased). I think it was and is, due to the good food plot that we had back then, that in return brings in the deer, which in return, brings in bigfoot looking for a meal.
Bringing back the crops, will bring bigfoot also. Looks like, we might just get another photo of the creature again.

Last Saturday's effort was a success thanks to all the guys that participated despite the triple digit heat index.

The newly installed detection and interdiction systems should prove an appropriate remedy for the trespasser/vandal situations that were encountered last year.

The winter forage plantings will begin tomorrow and it is hoped the weather will cooperate as the heat wave is something else.
