First off let me say hello. I am new to your community. I am 24 and live in central texas. I moved here from Louisiana 2 years ago. I have lived in Louisiana most of my life and have only ever seen tracks or footprints in the woods, never saw bigfoot himself. I want to know what yall think about this ? It is a link to a picture and news story that was emailed to me by my wife. she found it on the net.

The General consensus is.....that it is a mangy bear.....and after seeing comparisons of other mangy bear pictures...I'm inclined to agree that a mangy bear is what it is!  Smiley

I am in the minority on the bear. The legs are not quite right and the spine.

My take is it is not a bear but something else.

Perhaps, those with the originals will be forthcoming with their findings once a thorough analysis is completed.

He's got a couple years of academics under his belt in bear study and probably knows them as well as anyone yet the possibility of manipulation/hoaxing always exists.

Hey thanks everyone! for your responses. I was not so sure it was a bear. it is only the start of winter and a bear would have way more meat on his bones than that! the legs are so long and the spinal curve is just too sloped, like a man bent over as opposed to a bear. thanks again and keep em coming if you will!

I found a link somewhere but for the life of me I'm not sure just where. I posted the image over at GBO however. It was clearly a bear with mange. The site I found it on at least purported it to be from the same film sequence as this image and there was no doubt what that one was as it was real up close image.

I watched a show on TV last night, I think it was one I had previously recorded about "Bear Island" and it showed some guys doing bear research on Grizzlies along the coast where they are called Brown Bears. One of the young bears shown looked as close to the image here as I've ever seen. Other than the apparent color difference it would easily have passed for one of the critters above.

Based on these things and little else really I feel pretty sure it's bears in this one as well.

good link guys. I don't know a whole lot about this but there are still some questions in my mind of what this is. It kinda looks like the bear but it has the high slope to it's back that the ape has. I wish those photos were better!

Yup that's the problem with so many photos folks take. With no more detail than that you really can't tell what the heck it is.
