It now appears several erstwhile "researchers" are publicly admitting that every sound, every shadow and every tree bend, et. al. ain't caused by BF.

That may be a good start.

Some are also using equipment (NV/TI, etc.) that allow them to see exactly what it is and lo and behold, that armadillo sounds just like a rhino when travelling through the brush at midnight.

Others are finding out that barred owls often sound like....barred owls.

Again, another good start especially for those that aren't used to the sound of the woods at night.

At last, the years of frustration borne out of false hopes and expectations may be evolving into something resembling more of a professional and realistic effort.

About time.

Amen to that #59. I`m sure glad that other site, finally broke down and got them some night-vision also. I know I was getting tired of all the bigfoot's that they were claiming to see. Some of them bigfoot's they were seeing turned out to be armadillo's .  Cheesy Ya know maybe it is more important to see what is really out there, than thinking outside the box. Cool

Caveat: This is not an attack upon any particular organization or individual(s) rather, to perhaps illustrate why evidence that could possibly pass the rigors of science are often lost in the moment.

BM & I were recently discussing all of the sightings (over the past ~33 years) that have occurred upon their place and one incident in particular was a glaring example of what the above caveat concerns.

During one of the several MABRC "Expeditions" on M/M BM's place a plan was implemented whereby a group of individuals would proceed down off the "land bridge" which is the term used for an access point down into the strip pit canyon that runs along the south & west portion of their upper land parcel.  Additionally, several other individuals were then stationed along the "high wall" located several hundred yards west of M/M BM's place which is a great overlook location for the western section of the aforementioned strip pit canyon.

During this operation the UHS commonly known as the skinny basketball player was encountered and flushed out by the group making their way along the canyon floor.  It was only a few minutes later that some of the observers located on the overlook also gained a brief but clear visual on this UHS.

Apparently, no photographic evidence was gathered during this event as the participants were so unprepared for the reality of what transpired.  Additionally, no other form of forensic evidence was attempted to be recovered as well.  This, in spite of the publicly stated goal of such an "expedition" was to indeed attain evidence of UHS on M/M BM's place.  What this serves to illustrate is despite the best intentions of novices, bungling is often the order of the day.

Again, do not construe these comments as any form of a personal attack upon this organization or any members thereof rather, they are designed to illustrate that any real evidence will likely be gathered via happenstance (such as the UHS image) or when/if truly scientific professionals get involved in the endeavour on a serious scale.

MABRC has several members who are (by all accounts) good and decent people so to them, I would submit that the majority of BF sightings reported to-date seem to occur during a common theme.  That is when people are doing things other than deliberately looking/hunting for a BF so, I would advise them to consider such facts and incorporate them into their MO and be prepared for when the moment arrives.

Do not get so wrapped up in the logistics and structure of an "expedition" that you prevent yourself from seeing the forest (and BF) but for all those darned trees.
