Someone has asked "what good would a law be" in protecting BF/SF ?

For starters, it would codify the repercussions for harassing/harming/killing one by formalizing the fact that "just in case they do actually exist" they are to be left alone.

However, the most profound result would be that someone going out with the intent to commit such a crime does so with malice and forethought (as the law's existence would make the arguement "can't get locked up for shooting something that doesn't exist" a moot point) plus be rather ironic should subsequent DNA testing reveal a homo____ classification was scientifically valid which would likely mean the carcass became the perpetrator's signed confession.  Shocked

I went to that other forum and I was glad that he wrote down his experiences and impressions about the conferences.  I found it puzzling that he was pointing out which of the guest speakers were from Texas and which were not.  I don't know why that is important.  I would imagine that the conference would get speakers who were interesting and had something new to say.  Maybe it was all in jest and a little sarcasm.  Because of family and jobs, these people have to live elsewhere.  But I was glad to have read someone's impressions who went to the conference.

As this is being written there are some in the pro-kill camp fantically postulating that even if the DNA of BF/SF is eventually found to be a 100% match to ours "there is no way BF will ever be designated human".

Desperate people will do desperate things.

There are a lot of people who call themselves bigfoot researchers, but some I have had unfortunate encounters with.  I don't know if we are thinking of the same people, but I know a few that are psychotic and I would never be alone with them or trust any of my family members around them.  I will leave it at that.  Point being, if you ever go out with someone else in the woods bigfooting, make sure you really know them and have had several face-to-face meetings and side trips before plunging into the wilderness with them.  Once out in a different environment, some people take on a completely different personality.
