Brrrr, its cold today, 40 degrees and tonight its gonna get down to 23 degrees. Now if your like me, you like to camp out, but you don`t want to freeze, as your drinking your coffee. So I ordered this little kerosene heater, that I thought maybe you people would like to know about. It works pretty well, and keeps my living room roasty toasty. Heres the link:

You can get the kerosene heater at Atwoods, and for around 40 bucks, you can get a 5 gal can of kerosene.....the little heater is pretty easy to use, just ready the instruction`s.

 Cool

Udate on the Kerosene heater that I bought the other day....ran it all night. Outside temperature is 26, inside my cabin is 73. Having my morning coffee, with the little stove still running. The instructions say, that running time on a tank (1.2 gal) of kersone is 16 hours....Its nice and toasty in the living room of the cabin, cooler in the bedroom , so I turned on the central heat. Tomorrow I`ll haul in some wood for the fireplace. The fireplace will run you out it gets so warm...AAhhh, but nothing beats a nice warm wood fire. The aroma of the wood burning in the morning, and a nice cup of hot coffee, with a big slice of home made apple pie to go with it. It don`t get no better than that. Except maybe Ol Bigfoot knocking on the front door of the cabin, wanting a piece of apple pie and cup of hot coffee, as I reach over for the camera, to take his picture.... Cheesy.....course these X-perts of bigfoot hunters on other sites, would say it is a hunter in the woods, that has lost his way.... Cheesy Cheesy Wink

Bottom line: if you need a good kerosene heater this is the one to buy. Don`t expect it to warm more than a small room, maybe 400 sq ft.... Its great for an emergency,... But of Course,  nothing beats a wood fire.

This heater is also, a very good heater. It puts out twice the heat, maybe alittle to much for a small room, but would be great for a tent, if you were camping in the winter.

It also would be easyier to fill the tank on this one, cause you don`t have to pull the tank out to fill, like you do on the one above.. Cool Cool

If you are paying $8 a gal you are paying at least 2X the going rate. Save your jug, go to a gas station or other places that pump it. POWDERMAN.  Shocked Shocked

Yes you are right about that powderman. But I can get it for $4.00 a gal here in Okla, except I got to drive and hour one way to get it, so that would cost me the gas for the car to get there. Every where else, its anywhere from 8 to 11 bucks a gallon. It is expensive, but if one is out of everything else, that only leaves the kerosene to heat with.

Glad to see you back on.

The least expensive way to heat the house is with fire wood.  That is if you have access to the wood to cut yourself.  Where we are we have tons of trees and dead fall wood, our problem is just being able to cut it.  Our health is such that we just can't do it in enough quantity to do much good.  And trying to find someone to cut it for us on shares is really tough.  It seems that no one wants to put out any effort even though they could make money on the deal, by selling their share if they don't need it themselves.

Yes Yosemite Sam, I concur with what you said, wood is the cheapest if you have a free supply of it around. If prices keep going up on fuel and electric, I think I`ll move to Florida. LOL, course the heat in the summer time is to hot for me, during the summer months, been down there, I know. LOL. Guess Hawaii would be the next move, but, can`t afford the move. Sad

and there ain` t no Bigfoots over there... Wink
