Outside of the Patterson-Gimlin film...not much.

That video has been analyzed by people with far more expertise in the photographic field than most of us will ever attain and the findings are that given the technology which existed ~40 years ago it would have been virtually impossible for that event to have been staged as a hoax.  Pundits and other armchair experts have attempted to throw cold water on the artifact for years but their efforts continue to roll off just like water on a SF's back.  Wink

D.G. and I were talking this AM about our mutual disgust with 99.44% of what is going on in the so-called world of BF/SF "research".  Basically, the current presidential campaign political blather being bantered throughout the media is pure gospel compared to what you'll find on the BF related websites.  It's definitely a circus and there is certainly no shortage of clowns.

We both have had experiences that cannot be definitively explained as to exactly what it was we encountered however, we know that we saw, what we saw and were not hallucinating or enebriated at the time(s).  There are a few other people that have had similar experiences and many of those with whom I've spoken also have the same attitude and belief position as ours.

The reason for this thread/post is simply for those that have had similar experiences but haven't made any public acknowledgement thereof...you may be better off either keeping it to yourself or being very selective with whom you confide such information with as the attention you'll receive from the majority of those with a vested (read; commercial) interest in this enigma will ultimately be negative in nature.   IMHO, it will not be the 15 minutes of fame many of those having gone before you initially expected.

I have come to the belief that there are a lot more people out there who agree with what you said and have had their unexplained experiences than anyone realizes.

If their are thousands of bigfoot or SF, as you say, then if one of bigfoot does one unexplained thing to one human, than you have thousands of humans who have had contact and unexplained phenomenon.

Most people don't know what to do and remain quiet.  Some accept what is going on.  Others are driven crazy.  I think it really depends a lot on the person's spiritual development and if they are open minded to concepts that may challenge their beliefs or paradigms.

Some people believe these are people in tune with nature.  Others think they are superior to us.  And a few people think that they are demons.  They are many things to many people, and interpreted in many different ways.

I believe your quite right. No matter who comes forward if it don't fit the little slot allotted for the SF then they are humiliated embarrassed or verbally abused. Just reading most forums would be enough to scare anyone into not talking about what they experienced.
It appears to me that this is the sop for most researchers. Then immediately they swarm the area that the person had that experience. They then will no matter what the outcome of their research in the area will immediately say that the person that originally came forward was a hoaxer end of story.
Calling people hoaxers seems to be the best way to get them out of the way.
