Bigfoot Aggressiveness

I saw a Monster Quest episode the other evening which advanced the idea that reported bigfoot encounters seem to be getting increasingly violent.  It will probably be re-run at some point.  If you missed it, watch for it.

One such violent incident involved some unknown critter wiping out, or running off, a bunch of cats.  The family's cat beds were torn up and their car chewed up on the front.  An extensive investigation of the bite marks on the hood and bumper of, and of hair found on/in, the car seemed to indicate a large dog.  The investigators didn't really draw a hard conclusion.  But anyone who has been around cats knows that the animals will often take refuge in engine compartments of cars.  And anyone who has been around dogs knows that those animals will bite and attempt to rip away anything blocking their way to a cat.

The investigation determined that it would have taken a bite of some 300+ pounds to do the damage that was done to the car.  Those of us who know pit bulls know that a good, unconditioned one can exert some 600 or 700 psi of force with their jaws.  That can be conditioned, on the right dog, up to some 1200 or 1300 psi.  And big hunting and using dogs are not far behind--if any.  I have heard the bones cracking when a hound caught hold of a prey animal.  I have also known of hounds to chase a cat out of the woods and into a farmer's yard.

My conclusion is that, in this incident, a dog, or a group of dogs, chased one of the cats to the house, and, in the absence of the owners, either killed or ran off the cats and tore up the cat beds.  Nothing else was bothered.  One or more cats took refuge in the engine compartment of the car--and the car suffered for it.

So much for that violent bigfoot incident.

I had recorded the program and watched it tonight. I sure saw nothing on it that would make me think a bigfoot was around even the talk of shooting one. Those two idiots with the lever rifle and .410 shotgun didn't even come close to hitting it shooting so high into the tree and acted like they were sure they hit it. Yeah right.

That was one determined mutt that chewed up the car but have to agree most likely a dog after a cat that was hiding under the hood. I wonder if it ever got the cat?

I'm all for anything that hates cats. POWDERMAN. 

I don't hate cats, but too many cats is....  I've seen some cat hoarders that needed, worse than anything else in the world, a good pit bull, or 'coon hound, to put with them.  It is very difficult to break a 'coon hound from trailing a cat.  One of my favorite dogs was a pit/sharpei cross that lived for two things:  to stay as close to me as possible and to terrorize as many cats as she could find.

I have been told that cats, loose in the woods and fields, kill more small gave than all the hunters put together.

Actually, I admire cats.  They are intelligent, independent, self-reliant....
Actually, I don't admire many of their owners.  They are sometimes....
