Well, I looked again. Still looks like a man standing with his arms folded, still no gamecam. POWDERMAN.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Charlie...you've been blind in more ways than a country dawg knows how to go to town and for a long time.  Sad

john. I fail to see why it is so important that supposedly a gamecam was missed on such a poor quality picture. Maybe you can repost a pic with an arrow pointing to an object that so far has been seen only by you. Point it out please. POWDERMAN.  Huh Huh

Charlie,

First, you've got to take the blinders off and put down the kool-aid.

Then, carefully follow the instructions given in the fourth (4th) post up from this one.

OK John blown up to 400x I do see "something" there. I cannot say it is or is not another game camera as there just isn't that much resolution in the image. It looks as much like leaves or even a partially illuminated section of another tree behind that one as a game cam but I won't argue it if you say you have been there and verified it.

If however it is there and was operational where are the shots from it that it had to have gotten of the subject of this photo? Perhaps another angle of it would be more conclusive and if that's a game cam the object should be much closer to it than to the one you now are showing.

Bill,

Dr. Ciani found the camera while studying the image.  The camera had been in storage as I had totally forgotten about retrieving it when I got the other one.  Unfortunately, it had malfunctioned and only two frames had captured (daylight shots) anything but they were only half exposed as the winding mechanism failed.  Have since scrapped this camera as it was the oldest one (2002 vintage) in the inventory.

Dr. Ciani's findings (to-date);

"For my take of the UHS subject, it is probably a uniform color, although
the pixels in the scan are about the width any camo pattern would have,
which could blur the pattern across pixels, but not by much.  The
transparency slide I saw appeared to have no patterning at all, and looked
uniform.  I tried searching through some camo patterns in a couple of
catalogs, and there were none which had that overall dark gray color.
Almost every pattern possessed high contrasts, and very few had colors
different from greens and earth tones, usually being blues.  The only
"gray" camo patterns were digital camos, like those used in ACUs, which
are light in color.  The color is very much a dark color, likely a gray,
possibly a slightly silvery black, but not the jet black used in clothing.

The raised foot appears to be bare.  There appears to be nothing covering
the face, and the area around the face looks to be a lighter color, but
still grayish and dark.

After studying the slide and high-res scans, it seems that the UHS itself
is a dark color.  The coloration of leaves hanging behind the UHS is
visible, particularly red-orange tints.  The scene lacks much in the way
of green and blue objects.  If the UHS had color, the flash appears to
have been sufficient to show it.

The UHS appears to be carrying another UHS, but this could be a trick due
to a color variation on the UHS object itself.  Still, the right arm
appears to be beneath the second UHS, supporting it.

The sources of the bright spots are still unclear, but may be due to dust
adhering to the film, possibly during processing.  These could also have
been dust particles nearer to the camera when the picture was taken,
although they do seem to be on the UHS.

As for being a human, outside of a costume, the face appears to have
characteristics which are outside normal human traits.  The eyes are
visible and appear large and dark.  The nose also appears to have rather
large nostrils.  There is enough clarity to make comparisons of anatomic
ratios.  The legs are too short, comprising about 40% of the total height.
A human leg should be 50%, or a little more.  The arms are too long.  If
relaxed at the sides, the tip of the fist would be midway between the
crotch and the knee.  A human fist should be close to the crotch.  The
total length of the arm and fist is approximately the same as the length
of the leg from the hip.  The humerus to femur ratio is approximately
1.1:1, a human should be 0.7:1.  The femur to tibia ratio is difficult to
determine, but may be 1.2:1, which is consistent across humans and all of
the great apes (although gorillas and orangs tend to have slightly longer
femurs).  If the subject were 5'6" tall, then the shoulders would be 27
inches across.  The hips also seem wide for a human, but could be on the
upper end for human females.  If this is a human, it is a very deformed
one.  The ratios are consistent with "less evolved" apes.

As for being a hoax.  This does present a possibility, although difficult.
To obtain the ratios measured in the image, the head of the actor would
need to be beneath the head of the costume, between the large "trapezium"
muscles.  The shoulder width is fully outside a human capability, so the
arms would be entirely prosthetic, with the actor's arms inside the torso.
The hips would likely have require padding.  The feet would be simple to
do up.  The figure is clearly not in a stable position, and so must have
been walking (or anchored).

It is also possible that this is a mannequin, a construction, which is
easier to build for a still photo than a complicated costume.  I was
furnished with a Picture CD that contained all of the pictures from that
film strip.  There were 25 images (typical for a 24 exposure strip), and
they seemed to be in order, in sets of 4, as is typical of 35mm film.  The
image with the UHS was at the beginning of a strip.  Unless they were
conveniently cut at a boundary, or the camera deactivated, there were no
images of someone setting up a mannequin.  There were images from the
camera being setup and removed (it was relocated at one point), but not
every time.  Also, at some point, an additional game camera was added in
the view of the first (it can be seen on a tree to the right of the UHS).
No pictures were taken of that camera being setup.  That second camera did
take some pictures, but failed to advance the film properly.  So a
mannequin could have been setup, without any pictures of it, either by
the owners deactivating the camera, or by hoaxers who stayed out of
sensor range.

As for being an unclassified ape species.  No problem, if you will allow
yourself to accept that such a thing has remained hidden from scientists,
or scientists have been obtuse to its existence, for such a long time.
Although, if you consider that such a thing only remained hidden from
science for about 100 years (mid 1850's until 1967), then it does not seem
all that implausible, as there are species which evaded the hunter's
bullet during several hundred years of exploration, on all continents.
That such an animal remained hidden [from science] for 100 years seems an
unimpressive feat.  That science has chosen to ignore it for over 40
years, is truly disturbing.  I may prefer the idea of a hoax, lest science
be shamed.

Hoaxing;

It has been (purportedly, on a blog) claimed that this event was indeed hoaxed.

However, when pressed for specific details that only such a hoaxer would be privy to...the silence has been deafening.

I reckon this would make the claimant a simple garden style liar.

However, it does follow this individual's M.O..

The following comments are relevant to the image in question and hopefully will provide a degree of clarification:

Factual Background

The game cam(s) were placed in location the latter part of October, 2009 with the intent of capturing images of deer and/or turkey coming into an area that had been treated with a new type of attractant(s).

The game cam(s) were moved around (within the same proximity) during this time period as the attractant was so moved around.

New game cams were purchased in December and replaced the ones previously in this location.

The 35mm film from the original game cam wasn’t developed (at a local drug shop photo lab) until ~March 15, 2010.

Initial examination of the CD made from the film revealed an interesting image, which was captured between sunset and midnight on November 20, 2009.

The 35mm film was taken to another photo lab where a higher quality CD was made as well as a version with the scene lightened by said lab.  Later questioning of this photo lab’s personnel affirmed that no alteration (except for the lightening) was performed by said.

These two (2) images were subsequently placed upon Stan Courtney’s blog site with a brief explanation of the background regarding how this image came into existence.

At this time, Mr. Courtney began to be contacted by several members of the professional community with expertise in the area of photographic analysis.

At their request, high-resolution images were created on both CD and paper by four (4) separate independent photo laboratories in the Tulsa metro area.

The results were forwarded to Mr. Courtney as well as directly to the aforementioned parties.  One of the results was the designation of the image in question as Unidentified Humanoid Subject or UHS.

Also, reference photos were made in later March of 2010 of the location in an attempt to determine size and scale of the UHS image.  These were also forwarded to the aforementioned parties as well.  It is also planned to make additional images of this location when the foliage (later this fall) is in the approximate state as on November 20, 2009.

Additionally, a second game cam had been placed in this location and was totally forgotten about until one of the professionals detected it in one of the high-resolution CD’s.  We immediately removed the 35mm film from it for development but were disappointed to learn the camera had malfunctioned with only two images captured.  They were both daylight shots and only half frame images as the other halves were blurred beyond recognition.

Observations

It is noteworthy this image was captured during an effort to photograph fauna other than the UHS image which seems to correlate to many of the other sightings of similar UHS entities in that things other than searching for a UHS were primary considerations in the event(s).

The epidemic of negative comments about the quality and veracity of the image appear to lend credence to the findings that;

Internet websites are very poor locations for any serious scrutiny of photographic images due to the nature and limitations of the technology.  In other words, it’s a pitiful substitute for personal examination of images made upon high quality media.  The “missing” second game cam was only identified after examination from one of the high-resolution images and it’s location (even after being given directions) is apparently obscured from many viewing the website image(s).

The personal bias exhibited by several of those commenting appeared to render their opinions as totally moot when they chose to ignore valid evidence in favor of preconceptions.

In his book The Locals, Thom Powell discusses this malignant aspect of the field of searching out UHS entities.  This maelstrom of ego and personality conflicts has probably done more to hinder serious scientific effort in this area than any clandestine government agency program could ever hope to accomplish.  The number and scope of inquiry and interest shown toward this UHS image (many of whom wish to remain totally anonymous for obvious reasons) demonstrated the keen interest of many in the professional scientific community but choose (for now) to not join the insane asylum circus aura so prevalent with websites devoted to this topic.

That may be about to change.

Today, it was brought to my attention that a couple of websites have published unauthorized copies of what is known as the UHS image.  Even though Google archives every keystroke on sites that employ their (Google) banners, the posts in question have been captured and archived by yours truly as backup for future options.

If anyone else knows of such violations of copyright law, please contact us immediately.
