Rules for "finding" a UHS (aka; Bigfoot);

1. Walk away (or better, run) from any organized "expedition" or other outing venue that involves even the hint of expectation for having an encounter of any degree.  These are self-fulfilling prophecies and doomed to fail and disappoint the serious participant.  Consider the websites currently self-promoting such expeditions and their track record in producing a single shred of evidence that passes scientific muster.

There ain't none.

2.  When afield, do things other than "researching" or "hunting" for UHS.  The sheer volume of sightings reports along this vein suggest this is a time tested and proven approach.

3. Get acquainted with the outdoor world.  This involves a degree of separation from the urban environment many people habitate within on a daily basis.  Flush out the thought process you employ in daily existence inside the concrete jungle and listen to the world around you while sitting alone in the woods.  It is quite a remarkable experience as many the "real" hunter is keenly aware thereof.

4. Do it for yourself and not for fame and fortune as those are false idols which have led many a "BF researcher" into the wilderness and eventually precipitated the disillusionment that leads to resignation.

5. Use common sense.  Avoid the kool-aid mentality and also the level of skepticism that borders upon schizophrenia.  The real answers lie somewhere in the middle.

Finally, To Thy Own self Be True.

Sounds like some good advice. True leaders are rare and far between.

Couldn't agree with #59 more on these two points.  What have I said more than once?

"No self-respecting bigfoot would be caught dead at one of those organized hunts and certainly wouldn't want to have his picture taken there!"

"The best way to hunt for bigfoot is to be observant while doing other things in the woods and fields: hiking, camping, hunting, fishing...."  I can't remember a single reported sighting that resulted from a person specifically looking for a big hairy guy or gal.  And, you get kinder looks if you tell someone that you went hiking than you do if you tell them that you went bigfoot hunting.

Preacher

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just,
and will forgive our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.
